Hi, I’m an inspired recent real estate investor named Miguel Rivera from a modest neighborhood called Pigeon Hill in Aurora, Illinois, the City of Lights!
My first memory of real estate goes all the way back to grade school. My dad was a real estate agent, and after picking me up from school he would sometimes tell me he had to go show a house before we could go home. At the time, I hated hearing that. All I wanted to do was get home, and I remember being annoyed that I had no choice but to tag along.
While he showed homes to his buyers, I would usually do my own thing – walk around, explore the house, and entertain myself with all the different little characteristics each home had. This happened over and over, and somewhere along the way it started to grow on me. Before I knew it, I went from dreading those showings to asking my dad if I could come with him, even on Saturdays. Looking back, that was really my first exposure to real estate, and my dad would later become one of my biggest mentors in the industry.
I started my own investing journey in 2017 and I’m excited to continue to walk my chosen path to reach my ultimate financial goal of living off my rental income. Driven by infinite growth potential and guided by my mentor, I managed to get started and make it work with just a modest salary, practically no education in the field, and learning and applying some key habits.
My real estate journey also led me into the business as a buyer and seller agent. Naturally, I first began conducting my business in my own hometown, “Pigeon Hill” Aurora, Illinois, as I practically know every home in town. Gratefully, my career led me to expand and conduct business in other Chicago suburbs. Regardless of where you may need my services, it’s not the area that you are in, it’s the agent you are working with that makes a difference.
In addition, I have a two-year degree in website development that allows me to do one of my favorite hobbies, blogging, and having my own personal website. Of course, the topic I blog about is all about REAL ESTATE.
